Would you proceed by allowing the framers, electricians, and plumbers do what ever they wanted?

With no plan in mind at the outset there would likely be no coherent usability for the building, even if the entire crew were skilled at their individual jobs. Without a blueprint for the project there is no direction for the construction crew, there is nothing that lets them know how and where to apply their energy.

That same principle holds true no matter what you are creating in your life, be it your career, a new home, or your business. It is the plan, blueprint, or design of anything you are building that actually directs the forces of creation. Your creation begins moving into form when you take your unformed, invisible ideas and create the blueprint or framework of what you are manifesting.

Even with a plan you can still be flexible for changes that may come up along the way when you discover something new or simply feels it needs adjustment for where you are at the time. You may shift or change your plan at anytime. A plan doesn’t create rigidness, it creates structure. It gives shape to your creation. When you know how to work with the critical dynamic interchange between the formless mental realm of Air, and the formed physical realm of Earth, you are better able to effectively create anything. The mental realm of Air actually directs the forces of creation.

Now, there is a subtle difference between forcing and directing a creation. Forcing means you overly impose your will on the creation and directing means you help effectively shape it. An example of this would be forcing the land to suit your building, instead of shaping the building to suit the land.

When you effectively direct your creations, you pay attention to the landscape that is already present (who you are, what your skilled at, what’s next in the expansion of your life or business). From there, you shape your formless ideas, desires, and dreams into form in a way that aligns with who you are and what is important to you and your business from a soul level.

“Lisa Michaels’ Elemental Oracle,” I mused. “That’s interesting.”

“Interesting how?” Ann asked. “Interesting good, or interesting bad?” She’d never had a reading before.  Though I know her well, this was the first time she’d expressed an interest in anything “mystical.”

“Interesting good,” I said, and smiled. “Usually I draw one of these daily to inform my day. I’ve never used them to do a full reading before. But there’s a first time for everything.” 

I didn’t tell Ann, but there were a couple of other “interesting” factors, too. First, as we say down South, was her status as a “lapsed Baptist.” I knew the Elemental Oracle was accessible to those not on a Nature-based path, but I didn’t know how accessible. Second, Ann was in the start-up phase of her new business. I knew this deck to be firmly grounded in the natural world and its teachings, but I wasn’t sure it could provide support for her professional journey. But the pendulum had been clear, so faith and trust were required at the table.

Quickly, I reasoned between choices for the spread, as I wanted to shift Ann’s perspective and help get her “unstuck” around questions of growing her business. A three-card spread, with past, present, and future seemed to fit the bill. Plus, it was easy to communicate the message of each placement, and spend time utilizing the questions suggested by each card, using the Elemental Oracle guide.

Connecting our energies, I called in sacred space and asked for the assistance of Source in creating highest and best outcomes for the reading. Before the process of shuffling, cutting, and dealing, I asked her to think of a question about which she needed more information. It took a moment, but we made certain she was very clear about the question before proceeding.

Once the cards were dealt, we began with the card in the “present” position. As we worked, I focused on actively listening to Ann and to my guides as we accessed the card’s teaching. The guiding questions and the shift in perspectives were quickly reflected in her responses. Placing attention in this way nurtured the emergence of the higher self, and created more opportunity for increasing awareness.

Working with the past, present and future teachings separately – and the way each informs the next in turn – also created new understandings and opportunities to integrate information and synthesize awareness. Each time one of these opportunities emerged, we consciously focused on initiation needs and next steps for activation on a point by point basis. As we worked, I asked Ann to write down her emerging ideas and how she planned to use them when she returned to work on Monday. The result helped dynamically move the stuck places and replace them with forward movement. As we closed the reading, she felt focused, engaged, and enjoyed a renewed sense of energy and purpose.

Either way, when it is brought by nature or the hand of others, if destruction makes its way to your doorstep its devastating. The chaos, loss, disorder, and helplessness remind you to the core of your soul of the vulnerability of life.

It can be tragic to live through devastation, and tough to live with the knowing that life is fleeting, subject to the forces of nature, and the potentially destructive side of humanity. So what do you do? How do you experience destruction in your life and go on? How do you help those around you when they face the utter transformation of their lives?

Whether the loss of the old way of life is brought on by a sudden natural disaster, the slow decline of a marriage, industry, or economic flow, the death of a loved one, or the cruel hand of humanity, you need strong inner resources to help you through. How you engage the loss makes a difference in whether it destroys you forever or you are capable of rebuilding.

Collectively, we’ve witnessed stories of both individual lives and the lives of entire groups of people that faced tragedy, cruelty, loss, and still found it within themselves to  rebuild and thrive. What is the difference in those people and others who face similar situations but end up so beaten down by life that they never recover?

From the outside you can’t tell the difference. There is nothing that shows up externally that determines the depth of inner tenacity. But there are markers of character and personal development that seem to make a difference.

One is the capacity to find gratitude for even the smallest thing, even in the midst of the bleakest situation, and focus energy on that until it uplifts the spirit. Another is the ability to focus on creation both immediate and long term. What do we need to create right now to get food, water, and health care to where it is essential? How can we rebuild in a way that is stronger and more in alignment with the forces of nature?

Those two things alone can make the distinction between those who never recover from tragedy and those able to regain the strength and will to survive and thrive. At the core of both these components is the consistent practice of focus. Continuing to direct your focus while also allowing time for your feelings about the situation to be processed, aligns your head and heart toward creation.

In trying times and situations, as well as in daily life, centering yourself in gratitude and creation uplifts and directs your energy. It develops strong inner resources that help you and those around you not only survive, but ultimately thrive.

For your intentions to come fully into form, you need focus and commitment. Commitment is the energy that helps you see something through until completion.

When you are learning or doing something new you often reach a “crisis of commitment.” A place where you have to decide if you are going to stick with it until you break through to the other side of it or if you are going to give up.

Focus can help you pull your energy back toward your intention when you get off track. And if you fully commit to your intention and focus, you can experience breakthrough and completion.

You have so many choices in life, so many places to put your energy, so many interesting things to explore and people to meet. Focus helps you keep directing your attention toward your desires until they fully come into form.

Focusing your attention on anything amplifies its energy, so you need to be sure to keep your focus on what you desire in life. What you focus on expands.

While it is extremely important for you to keep your mental realm focused on what you choose to bring into being, you must simultaneously release any attachment to the outcome. Focusing your energy does not equate to controlling a situation.

To come fully into being, sometimes your creations have to move in ways you can not anticipate. Many times when you release control of a situation, Spirit and your guides move things into place that help you clear what is in the way of bringing the creation into being.

You may need to uncover and release old belief systems or emotional baggage before the desire can come fully into form. If you struggle, control, or resist what is moving in your life, you just might miss the lessons you are meant to learn and block the dream from becoming reality.

You need to practice continually bringing your focus back to your intention.
