This is a beautiful tradition to thank and honor the Earth Mother, whom they call Pachamama. A despacho gives the energy of appreciation to uplift Mother Earth. Say a prayer, give a blessing, or offer gratitude with each item you place in the bundle.

Ever since 9/11 we’ve collectively experienced fear as an undercurrent in our lives. In the last few years, with the economic challenges worldwide the volume of the collective fear has been turned up even higher. Since we are all connected through sharing the element of Air, we all feel it. How we handle it and what we do with it is a different matter.

Many people don’t recognize this fear because it has been such a pervasive and chronic condition of their lives. When fear is instilled in childhood through parenting practices, an overly strict school environment, or religious training, it often forms an emotional core that goes unexamined and unreleased throughout adulthood. Over the years, more fear is simply layered on top with no realization of the accumulation.

In the spiritual community, the motto is often “don’t think about or feel fear” and it won’t impact you. If fear is an undercurrent that has been pervasive in your experience, its influence runs so deep in your feeling core that it’s not as easy as “don’t think it or feel it”.

Fear is hardwired into the body as means of protection: it is an automatic response when the body is threatened. In order to make other choices, you have to recognize what fear feels like when it springs up inside to defend you from a perceived threat. Then you are able to direct your energy in another direction.

In order to release chronic fear, you need to do some conscious clearing work around it. However, I’ve seen people get stuck in the cycle of clearing, never feeling quite clean enough (another form of fear). They don’t progress to the stage of actively and intentionally directing the forces of creation. This is like the person who continues to feel dirty after they’ve had a shower. They spend all their time continuing to try and feel clean, when they need to be focused on going out and creating in the world.

There are multiple ways fear can impact you in each of the elemental realms, and here are just some of them.

On the Earth physical level you are likely to experience a wave of fear when you encounter a mama bear and her cubs in the wild, a flood that covers the roof of the house at the end of your cul de sac, someone breaking into your home, or being physically attacked in some way. You might also be impacted by very day to day physical concerns such as wearing the right outfit to an important event, or more dire ones of not having enough food or a place to sleep.

Collectively we experience fear at the physical level with environmental threats such as the gulf oil spill, an earthquake such as the one that hit Hati, or a tsunami that wipes out an area as in Japan. Physical fear also comes from being near attacks such as 9/11 or bombing or warfare or someone with a rifle opening fire on a group. These bring immediate physical fear that can take us to safety but also keep us awake at night long after the experience.  

Fear occurs on the Water emotional realm when you are awash in so much self-doubt it prevents you from taking action. Feelings of fear may be impacting you if you are having trouble making decisions, you are steeped in worry, you can’t focus on generating and creating solutions to the problems you face.

In the emotional realm you can also have fear of shame, guilt, or humiliation blocking you from trying something new or going for your dreams. It’s easy to be drowning in fear without even knowing it.

On the Air mental level, fear is often blasted over the airwaves through both words and pictures. It might come from the radio, the television, a political leader, an economist, a teacher, or the pulpit. Hearing treats of economic collapse can move you immediately into a financial survival mode, taking you right out of an income generating creative mindset. You might be afraid that what you say or believe can get you ostracized or even possibly killed.

When you hear words that are intended to invoke fear, you need to know how to handle them. Do you absorb them and allow them to impact your emotions, or can you recognize the blast and make a conscious choice about how you want to deal with them?

Fire is provoked when you experience fears of life becoming out of control. Being in an accident, being overpowered in some way (such as being beaten, enslaved, tortured, abused, raped, or the eternal damnation of burning in hell for all eternity) are fears which can inflame the Fire element.

Depending on your cultural background, you might have cellular fear of being burned at the stake, driven from your land, and more. Any of these can bring low-grade unnamed fear. I once had a client whose mother escaped capture during the war: for years, the daughter experienced a fear she could never put her finger on until we cleared the fear passed down from her mother during a creation coaching session.

Spiritually, you might have low-grade fear of intolerance or persecution for your beliefs and the way you connect or don’t connect to the Divine. In the words of singer/songwriter Holly Near, you might not be afraid of someone else’s God but for “what people do in the name of their God”. For many years those who honored nature, upheld science, or believed in the Divine Feminine were considered heretics and the punishment was often death.

The best action you can take to deal with the way fear may be impacting your life is to simply begin noticing it. Pay attention to your responses to situations. Are there ways fear is or has been used to control you?

Also notice if you are using the two most common fears – lack of time and money – to prevent yourself from going for your dreams.

You’ll be activating the inner quality of deep grace as a navigational tool to guide your life in times of stress or turmoil, and to assist you in bringing your desires into being.

So what drains the energy out of your desires like a thief in the night? It’s the simple things really. The leaks happen in places where you slide into old habits or patterns that don’t support your intention. We all do it from time to time, but the important thing is to notice when you are engaging in behaviors that drain your creation energy and then make an adjustment.

So, what is exactly is a creation based energy leak? It’s something that decreases the life force that you have available for your creations to come into form. Imagine a boat sailing along the water toward its destination. With a leak, it will eventually stop sailing and start sinking. That same thing can happen with you and the creation of your dreams and desires, be they for your life success or the financial thriving of your business.

Nature’s principles of creation work the same no matter where they are being applied: relationships, health, wealth, or business. Each of the five core areas of creation must be directed toward any creation and each of them can also be leaking energy. Once you know how each element functions in creation you can apply it effectively and know what to watch for energetically.

Go back to the boat you were imagining earlier. The first leak you saw was in the boat itself, at th e physical level, when it began to sink. But imagine that the sails all had holes in them and wouldn’t hold the air that was propelling it forward. Or maybe the captain guiding the boat lost hope on ever reaching the destination. Each of the realms (Earth/physical, Water/emotional, Air/mental, Fire/energy, Spirit/essence) influences your outcome. And all five realms need to be aligned for the success of any endeavor.

Over the next five articles we will go into each of the realms and discuss some of the basic leaks that realm can experience. I will give you tips on how to mend those leaks and redirect your creation energy.

For now, simply start noticing the places where you are losing energy. Then pay attention to what element might be involved.

Is it physical and you see a mess all around you and you can’t get started taking action?

Or is it emotional and you don’t feel capable of making a change or creating your goals?

Do you actually believe your dreams can happen? Notice if your Air/mental realm thoughts support you reaching your destination.

With Fire, pay attention to the actions you are taking. Are they in the direction of your intention or scattered in many areas? Is indecision leaking your creation energy?

Finally, on the realm of Spirit, start noticing if where you want to go is a true desire of your heart or something you “think” you need to do.

Conscious awareness on the area that is impacted will get you started exploring the terrain of creation and the ways your energy may be leaking. This is the first step in repairing any energy holes that will help you focus your energy and effortlessly glide toward your destination.

Do you have a winning inner creation team?
Do they play well together, giving you the feeling of scoring success often?

Or perhaps, you feel like they are in one big food fight in the creation cafeteria of life and not supporting each other at all?

Either way, playing well or completely uncooperative, you can assist your inner creation team in achieving greater levels of grace-filled success. Winning teams are known for continuing to take their game to the next level and those frustrated with their results are looking for a new way to coach their team to victory.

Your team players all have a particular function and a certain elemental archetype. Understanding the way each team member functions and the elemental archetype they express helps you know how to utilize that player most effectively. As each member feels acknowledged for the skills and talents they contribute to the creation of your life the more effectively they co-create success with the other players.

When players don’t feel noticed or respected they often act out in sabotaging ways in your life or their talents for creation could simply be tremendously under utilized. Becoming skilled at inner team work can help you build a thriving business, live more fully from your life purpose, create more personal prosperity, and re-energize your passion for life.

So what kinds of functions do your inner team members bring to the creation of your life?

• One of the players reveals what you’ve come here to be/learn/do/express.
• The way two of your key players interact and work together determines how effectively you create anything, from life to financial success.
•  The elemental energy of another player influences the way you see the world and how you respond to situations.
• Another player determines your quickest route to your life purpose.
• One player reveals what you need most elementally for your right livelihood.
• And another informs you of the type of elemental fuel you burn and why you need it to thrive.

It might sound like there is a lot to learn but at the very basic level it’s pretty simple and extremely helpful to the success of your creations. Honestly, and I’ve said this in one of my previous posts, learning this way of working with my inner creation team has made a huge difference in my relationships, understanding my purpose, aligning with the unique way I work with prosperity, and my ability to thrive. And I know from experience of working with hundreds of people it has made a powerful impact on their life as well.

Let me give you a simple way to start working with one of your team members. Instead of thinking of where the sun was when you were born as describing who you are, which many people get frustrated with because they know they are so much more than that, view it as the kind of fuel you need to help you thrive in life.

Here is a good example, I have a friend who’s inner creation team members are mostly Air, with some Fire. He’s highly artistic and creative and always needing to express it in some way, yet the fuel he burns is Taurus. What this means is that in order to refuel, periodically he needs to express his creativity by creating more beauty in the earthly realm. He needs to remodel a room, build a flower bed, do yard work, construct a shed, anything physical. If his team players were only Air and Fire he would have no need to express his creativity in such a grounded physical way. He would be content with expressing his art in pictures and words.

So take a moment to connect with the elemental archetype the sun was in when you were born and think of it as your fuel. Mine is the fiery sign of Leo, which means periodically I need an infusion of self-love, leadership, and/or visibility. This has expressed in my life through dancing, public speaking, and teaching. I love expressing and sharing. What does your elemental archetype reveal that you need, in order to refuel?

Step 2: Open to the Ways the Elements Sub-divide into Unique Expressions

Once you understand the basics of how the elements express then it is time to connect to the way they sub-divide into specializations.

Earth‘s grounded physical realm expression moves into specialization through the archetypes of Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. Now if you are thinking “newspaper astrology” here you are missing the boat. What I am terming “Newspaper astrology” is all about which archetype the sun was in when you were born and tells you very little about yourself. The system I am talking about uncovers your elemental make-up helping you to know how to apply it to key life areas to create more success. There is a tremendous amount you can understand by learning the basics of how the archetypes work within (we will go deeper into that in step 3).

Staying open to how these specializations work in your elemental make-up will make a big difference in understanding your life purpose, your unique personal prosperity motivations, your capacity to effectively create, how you might build and grow a business, and what connects you to your passion in life.

Each of the Earth archetypes have a unique focus: Taurus teaches the importance of enjoying beauty and pleasure of the earthly realm of matter. Virgo reveals the significance of dedicated work and the cycles of nature. Capricorn, the wise administrator, brings the value of structure and form. Their areas specialization go much deeper than this and knowing how they function will not only teach you much about yourself, it will help you understand others more effectively, and know how to further apply the energies to your creations. The Earth archetypes need to pay attention to details and step-by-step building of their prosperity.

Water’s archetypes are all about learning to flow and grow in the realm of feelings and emotions. Cancer brings the ability to nurture and create emotional safe space. Scorpio’s training is to learn to fully explore the power of feelings and master your response to them. Pisces teaches the importance of a compassionate heart. The Water archetypes need to be sure their emotional realm is clear and expansively flowing in order to access all their prosperity. Fear or contraction around money weakens their ability to create the currency they require in order to thrive.

The Air archetypes brings perspective, vibration, and vision from the invisible mental realm. Gemini loves the mind, creativity, communication, and ideas. Libra teaches the importance of balanced relationships and honoring each person’s point of view. Aquarius takes a big picture cosmic perspective on life and thinks innovatively. The Air archetypes need to keep their prosperity vibration uplifted and focused on what they choose to create.

Fire archetypes focus on taking action, leadership, and visibility.  Aries teaches the meaning of individuation and decisive action. Leo lights up leadership with its radiance and self-love. Sagittarius brings the significance of expansion and exploration. The Fire archetypes have to be mindful not to burn through their funds and to take consistent and rhythmic action toward their prosperity creations.

In step 3 we will uncover the various ways these energies can be functioning within you. There are many possible combinations that you could experience and you want to discover their placement so that you can strengthen their ability to work together to create more prosperity and meaning from your passionate purpose.

Breaking through to a new level of experience requires learning something new.

When I decided to start teaching online I had a tremendous number of new skills to acquire in order to expand into a whole new realm. Now presenting classes online is second nature to me and I love sharing programs with people all over the world.

One of the unique skill sets of my elemental make-up is I am able to teach anything I’ve studied in an easy to digest step-by-step way.  

Discovering my elemental make-up has been one of the most important things I’ve learned in the last fifteen years. It deeply impacted my ability to direct my skills in more purpose-filled ways. It helped me to understand my unique personal prosperity motivations. It increased my communication and relationship skills. It also assisted me ingrowing my business and absolutely helped me access more passion in life.

Before I learned about my full elemental profile there were ways I functioned but I had no idea why, nor did I realize how important certain things were to my over all well-being and prosperity. I primarily have a Fire and Earth inner make-up. But the specific kind of Fire informed me that I needed to be in a learning, teaching, and
visible leadership position.

The type of Earth I work with let me know that I need to solidly put structure and form around my sacred work in the world. This kind of Earth also connects to the patterns and cycles of the natural world. Combined these Earth and Fire energies direct me toward the work I currently do of creating products, workshops, and learning systems for others to discover more about nature and her rhythmic cycles.

Working in alignment with my core elemental make-up helps me bring through my unique essence expression enhancing the life, success, and prosperity of those I work with, as well as my own. Understanding my personal connection to these energies also let me know that the choices I need to take around my abundance must be solid Earth based steps that are Fire balanced and rhythmically timed for my prosperity to flourish.

Your life choices need to be in alignment with your core elemental energies in order for you to effectively thrive. I have one friend whose elemental life purpose is the type of Water that wants her to be in service to others. The only reason she feels the need for greater abundance is if it will increase her ability to be in service to others in some way.

Another one of my friends has a tremendous amount of a large building Earth energy and she is devoted to having a strong economic business structure and a hefty investment portfolio. Your elemental make-up forms a key component in the choices you make and outlook you have that influence your prosperity, purpose, and passion.

Step One of Creating a Purpose, Passion, and Prosperity Breakthrough

You need to understand that the elements flow through each person’s character in a unique fashion. Your personal elemental combination forms your essence and impacts your ability to successfully create in every area of your life.

The elemental energies that make-up your inner essence work together like a team. Effective teams have all the members on board when creating their dreams. Each of the elemental energies (your team members) need to be getting their needs met or you will feel like you are in an internal tug-of-war.

For example, if you have a “watery-fiery” nature and they weren’t playing well together, you might feel like your Water (your emotions) are putting out your inner Fire (your passion). However, when they are working effectively together you can feel emotionally supportedas you create a more prosperous life from your passion and purpose.

If you have a more “earthly” character you will find going step-by-step to bring your desires into being is important. While someone who has an “airy” temperament may have lots of creative ideas floating around but not much coming into form. If Air and Earth work together, then taking the steps needed to get those creative ideas into form becomes considerably easier.

Earth works with the physical realm, structure and form, and going step-by-step.

Water expresses through the emotional realm, teaching you through relationships, and helping you magnetize your desires.

Air forms the mental realm, providing communication,vision, focus, intention, and vibration.

Fire fuels your growth through action and energy. It creates visibility and growth.

Spirit is the unique essence combination of elemental energies from which you create.

Finding out your elemental make-up is simple but does require a little discovery time. Your purpose, prosperity, and passion breakthrough rewards will make the small amount of learning worth it!

Would you proceed by allowing the framers, electricians, and plumbers do what ever they wanted?

With no plan in mind at the outset there would likely be no coherent usability for the building, even if the entire crew were skilled at their individual jobs. Without a blueprint for the project there is no direction for the construction crew, there is nothing that lets them know how and where to apply their energy.

That same principle holds true no matter what you are creating in your life, be it your career, a new home, or your business. It is the plan, blueprint, or design of anything you are building that actually directs the forces of creation. Your creation begins moving into form when you take your unformed, invisible ideas and create the blueprint or framework of what you are manifesting.

Even with a plan you can still be flexible for changes that may come up along the way when you discover something new or simply feels it needs adjustment for where you are at the time. You may shift or change your plan at anytime. A plan doesn’t create rigidness, it creates structure. It gives shape to your creation. When you know how to work with the critical dynamic interchange between the formless mental realm of Air, and the formed physical realm of Earth, you are better able to effectively create anything. The mental realm of Air actually directs the forces of creation.

Now, there is a subtle difference between forcing and directing a creation. Forcing means you overly impose your will on the creation and directing means you help effectively shape it. An example of this would be forcing the land to suit your building, instead of shaping the building to suit the land.

When you effectively direct your creations, you pay attention to the landscape that is already present (who you are, what your skilled at, what’s next in the expansion of your life or business). From there, you shape your formless ideas, desires, and dreams into form in a way that aligns with who you are and what is important to you and your business from a soul level.

Let me give you an example of how important knowing how to apply them can be if you are a teacher, trainer, or facilitator. Basically if you are teaching anyone, anything, you need to be sure and include each of the elements.

Earth/Physical: You need a step-by-step system that layers in the skills of your subject effectively. Each stage of development needs to be mastered before you add in the next level of learning. You want to take the learner from their current abilities to the desired accomplished skill capacity.

Water/Emotional: Your learners need to feel emotionally safe and supported to expand their abilities. When your trainees or students are fearful or frustrated they contract and it makes it challenging to absorb the subject. You need to help them move beyond their contracted feelings into emotional stability and competency.

Air/Mental: The thoughts and beliefs your learners hold about themselves and the subject are critical to their overall success. As the educator you build a mindset bridge from your students current mental models to the chosen outcome. You help the learner to focus their mental energy in order to develop their next skill set.

Fire/Action: Part of the job of a facilitator involves inspiring others to take action. Learners must apply energy toward any skill they are developing to achieve mastery. As a teacher you demonstrate accomplishment each time you actively show the end result.

Spirit/Essence: The more you can help your trainees fully engage and connect to the subject the deeper the learning will be for them. You also uncover the unique talents of each student and help them to bring out their abilities. As you assist them in choosing to be more effective in the subject area you draw out their success.

Leaving out any one of the elemental realms weakens your teaching results. As a facilitator, teacher, or trainer adding an understanding and basic skills with the elements can help your personal life and it can improve your training results tremendously.
